What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 337 in Real County, TX on July 4th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:55 p.m. A Dodge Durango operated by 29-year-old Ryan McKinnley Warner reportedly was traveling westbound at an unsafe speed when it lost control and veered eastbound. It then went into a skid and into a bar ditch where it hit and incline. This caused the vehicle to overturn and ejected Warner from the vehicle. Warner suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Responding officers say the odor of alcohol was present at the scene.
