What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at RM 12 in Hays County, TX on September 20th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 24-year-old Rexie Weed Jr was headed eastbound on RM 12, allegedly at a speed unsafe for the road. As it approached a curve in the road, the vehicle veered from the road before taking evasive actions to return to the road. This caused the vehicle to go into a skid and travel across oncoming traffic lanes, where it was struck by an approaching Toyota Tacoma.  The collision left Weed with fatal injuries. The Tacoma driver, identified as 19-year-old Ryan Wyatt, was seriously injured, according to police.
