What Happened

Are authorities are investigating a crash that killed at least one person at FM 2247 in Comanche, TX on July 18th, 2023. Police believe the incident happened as a Dodge truck was allegedly traveling southbound in northbound lanes around 8 p.m. As the vehicle approached a curve in the roadway, police say it traveled back into a southbound lane as an approaching northbound Ford Explorer went south in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision. The driver of the Ford, identified as 21-year-old Samara Johnson, died a the scene. The driver and passenger of the Dodge were both hospitalized for treatment.
