Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a woman at FM 76 in Socorro, TX on October 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:43 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Accent operate day a 23-year-old San Elizario woman was traveling behind an eastbound Nissan Kicks, which was slowing to make a left turn onto Harvest Grove. Police allege the Hyundai attempted to travel around the Nissan, entering into a westbound lane. As the Nissan began making its turn, officials say the two vehicles collided. The impact is said to have caused the Hyundai to spin into a nearby wall, leaving the 23-year-old San Elizario woman driving, with suspected serious injuries. The Nissan operator was not injured, according to police. Sources indicate a DWI charge may have been recommended and/or issued.
