What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at US Hwy 385 in Lamb County, TX on May 4th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Caravan operated by 61-year-old Rhonda Lynn Connor was allegedly attempting to pass an 18-wheeler as another vehicle approached. Police say the vehicles collided, seriously injuring the driver of the second vehicle, identified as 52-year-old Teresa Ledesma Gonzalez. Two passengers, identified as 54-year-old Sandra Sanchez Gonzalez and 58-year-old Herlinda Guerrero, were killed in the crash. Connor was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
