Police say the incident happened around 8:52 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Econoline van operated by 73-year-old Santiago Gonzalez, was headed southbound on FM 1854. The van reportedly failed to turn right before continuing across a double yellow line and through a grass median. The vehicle veered through a ditch before overturning. Gonzalez, who investigators allege suspicion may have consumed alcohol prior to driving, suffering serious injuries.
