What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Nutty Brown Rd in Hays County, TX on May 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:15 p.m. Investigators say a tractor-trailer operated by 35-year-old Christhian Jose Perdomo Vasquez was headed northwest on Nutty Brown Rd when it began taking a curve and an alleged unsafe speed. It veered from the road through a grassy bar ditch before traveling up over a culver and back into oncoming traffic. It collided head-on with a Toyota 4Runner operated by 67-year-old Santiago Sal Siguinajay, causing the truck to catch fire. The Toyota veered from the road through a fence and into a group of trees. Siguinajay suffered fatal injuries while a 44-year-old passenger was seriously injured. Vasquez was also seriously injured.
