Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at State Hwy 114 in Hockley County, TX on January 2nd, 2024. Authorities say the incident happened around 11:40 a.m. According to investigators, a Kia Soul headed northbound on FM 168 is alleged to have failed to yield right-of-way at the intersection with TX 114. Police say the vehicle collided with a Dodge Ram traveling eastbound on TX 114 at the time. The collision was serious enough the driver of the Kia, identified as 32-year-old Rachael Leigh Nuskind, died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, identified as 68-year-old Santiago Samarron, was treated at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 64-year-old Adriana Samarron, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
