Area authorities have information on a crash that injured a driver at US 60 in Deaf Smith County, TX on April 4th, 2022. Police say it happened around 5:12 p.m. According to their investigation, a Toyota Camry operated by 37-year-old Sarah Beth Varbel was reportedly headed eastbound in an inside lane of US 60 while passing a tractor-trailer. The truck reportedly moved left to perform a wide turn, traveling into the path of the Toyota. The Toyota is said to have performed evasive action to avoid a collision and veered into a crossover, colliding with a delineator pole and yield sign. Varbel suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was not injured and issued a charge/citation for Unsafe Movement Right or Left on Roadway.
