What Happened

Odessa Police are investigating a crash that killed woman at I-20 in Odessa, TX on July 29th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:02 a.m. A Honda Accord occupied by five passengers reportedly suffered a tire blowout, causing it to lose control and crashed. One passenger, 22-year-old Sarah Cortez, died at the scene. The driver and other three passengers were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Police say that no one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
