What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured a driver at East Stassney Ln in Austin, TX in May 10th, 2022. Officials are saying the incident happened around 9:42 p.m. According to their investigation, a Honda Odyssey operated by a 58-year-old male was headed northbound on the eastbound side of Stassney Lane crossed a median and collided head-on with a Ford F-150 operated by 44-year-old Saul Gaytan Castillo. The impact caused the truck to overturn and left Castillo and a 40-year-old passenger with non-life-threatening injuries. The Honda driver was more seriously injured and officers allege suspicion he may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
