What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a man at I-45 and Pruitt in Montgomery County, TX on May 4th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 10 p.m. They say a vehicle was traveling southbound on I-45 at a high rate of speed when it collided a Toyota Prius about to pull out of a gas station. The impact pushed the Prius into a utility pole, causing the man driving serious injuries. Identified as Sergio Campo, he was extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews and hospitalized. The other driver, 25-year-old Jada Silas, was alleged to be impaired while driving and arrested at the scene. Reports indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued against Silas.
