What Happened

El Paso Police are investigating a crash involving a pair of 18-wheelers that led to a death at Winn Rd and Pan American Dr in El Paso, TX on November 8th, 2021. Officials responded to the scene just before 4 p.m. where a pair of 18-wheelers had collided with multiple power poles at an intersection. Investigators say that one of the trucks had been previously traveling at a high rate of speed as it approached the intersection before breaking and causing the truck to overturn and strike the other truck as well as the power poles. The collision caused the death of one driver, 32-year-old Sergio Enrique Lome Orozco. The other driver, identified as 61-year-old Jose Jesus Reyes, was not injured.
