What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at I-20 in Parker County, TX on December 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:15 p.m. Investigators say an 18-wheeler was slowing in traffic when it was struck by a second truck, pushing it into a passenger vehicle. Another truck struck one of the other vehicles and several caught fire in the crash. The driver of one of the trucks, identified as 25-year-old Sergio Garcia, died at the scene. Three others, including two drivers identified as 62-year-old Adan Rodriguez and 39-year-old Johnathan Haines, were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not immediately available.
