Police say the incident happened around 7:45 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound on US 67 prior to allegedly losing control for unclear reasons. Officials say the vehicle traveled into a westbound lane where it collided with a Ford F-150. The driver of the Dodge, identified as 30-year-old Sergio Vasquez Cardona, died at the scene, according to reports. Reports also say the Ford operator, identified as 19-year-old Kolton Ponnie Edward Smith, was hospitalized with suspected serious injuries. Authorities had no additional information available.
