They have stated that it happened around 4:22 p.m. A Nissan Altima operated by a 33-year-ld San Augustine man collided with a bicyclist that entered the intersection at East Market and Liberty. Investigators allege that the bicyclist, 53-year-old Sharon Annette Dwire, failed to yield at the stop sign. They also say that the San Augustine man was allegedly intoxicated, charging him with Driving While Intoxicated. Dwire suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
