Authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person involved at FM 2657 in Burnet County, TX on January 7th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 7:54 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado was northbound on FM 2657 before allegedly crossing a double yellow line into a southbound lane before colliding with a Dodge Challenger. The collision left the driver of the Dodge, identified as 46-year-old Shawn Beck, suffered fatal injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 56-year-old Stacie Beck, suffered injuries said to be serious in nature. The other driver, a 27-year-old Austin man who was not publicly identified, was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate charges for Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault were recommended and/or issued against the driver of the Silverado.
