What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a pedestrian at St Johns and I-35 in Austin, TX on June 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 7:52 p.m. A Toyota Corolla operated by 19-year-old Felipe Munos reportedly failed to yield while exiting a private driveway and traveled into the path of a Ford Edge operated by a 56-year-old Austin man. The Edge reportedly then turned away from the other vehicle to avoid a greater collision and ended up striking an electrical pole and pedestrian standing next to the pole. The pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Shondra Kellough, was seriously injured. The two drivers and a passenger did not report having injuries. Police allege that Munos was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
