What Happened

Area authorities have information on a collision that injured a driver at US 59 in Houston, TX on January 1st, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:31 a.m. A Ford Focus operated by 24-year-old Sidney Gonzales was headed eastbound on the service road while a Ford F-150 operated by a 28-year-old Houston man was headed southbound on Weslayan St. Investigators say the Focus allegedly ran a red light at the intersection and collided with the F-150. The Houston man was uninjured while Gonzales suffered serious injuries. Responding officers arrested Gonzales and reports indicate a charge of DWI was issued and/or recommended.
