What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a person at I-20 in Balch Springs, TX on October 5th, 2021. Police say the incident happened 8:14 a.m. A Mack truck operated by a 56-year-old Mesquite man was traveling behind a Mercedes-Benz operated by 50-year-old Sonya Renee Burton as traffic ahead reportedly began to slow. Investigators say the Mesquite man reportedly attempted to slow to avoid a collision but was unable to come to a complete stop, instead colliding with the rear of the Mercedes. Burton suffered minor injuries in the collision while the Mesquite man was not injured.
