What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured South Sam Houston Pkwy in Houston, TX on January 27th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:40 a.m. A Nissan Altima operated by 25-year-old Steffany Janeth Villegas was southeast-bound at a Sam Houston Pkwy W service road while a commercial truck operated by a 34-year-old Dayton man was headed southwest. Police say dashcam footage collected from the truck shows the Nissan disregarding a traffic signal and colliding with the truck. Villegas suffered serious injuries in the collision. The other driver was not injured.
