What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at VFW Rd in Canyon, TX on October 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:10 a.m. Investigators say a Chevrolet Silverado operated by an unnamed 73-year-old man was headed westbound on Southridge Dr before allegedly failing to yield from a stop sign. The vehicle then collided with a a Volkswagen Atlas operated by 30-year-old Stephanie Newcomb. Police say Newcomb suffered serious injuries while the other driver was not injured. Officers recommended a Failure to Yield Row charge against the 73-year-old driver.
