What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at State Hwy 62 in Orange, TX on April 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:35 p.m. According to preliminary investigation, a 2017 Ford make vehicle was headed southbound while a 2011 Ford make vehicle was headed northbound. The 2017 Ford reportedly veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the 2011 Ford. The 2017 Ford driver, identified as 48-year-old Stephanie Smith, died at the scene. The other driver, identified as 29-year-old Christina Johnson, was hospitalized for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
