What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-10 near Lee Trevino Dr in El Paso, TX on March 23rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:40 p.m. According to investigators, a a Dodge Ram is said to have braked to avoid a collision with vehicles ahead stopped in traffic. As a result, a vehicle directly behind the Dodge is said to have performed a lane change to avoid the Dodge and in the process collided with a Hyundai Veloster. This led to a collision involved several other vehicles, including a tractor trailer. Reports say the driver of one of those vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Steve Carmona, was fatally injured after he was ejected from his vehicle in the crash. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
