Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at US 190 in Brazos County, TX on September 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Avalanche operated by 71-year-old Steve Chapman was exiting a gas station before attempting to cross a median to make a left turn to head  eastbound on US 190. Police say after pulling out of the median, the vehicle turned left to enter an outside lane of travel, making contact with a commercial truck. The crash left Chapman with fatal injuries. The other driver was not injured, according to police. Additional information was not immediately available.
