What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at State Hwy 6 in Brazoria County, TX on October 16th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:22 a.m. According to investigators, a street sweeper was westbound in an outside shoulder. Two crash trucks were blocking the westbound lanes while the street sweeper attempted to make a u-turn to the eastbound shoulder. Officials say a second commercial truck traveling in a center turn lane proceeding into a no pass zone and collided with the street sweeper. Officials say the driver of the second vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Summer Taylor, was seriously injured. The street sweeper operator, who was not publicly identified, had suspected minor injuries.
