Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Buckingham Rd in Garland, TX on August 13th, 2023. Police say he incident happened around 1:59 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Rav 4 operated by 57-year-old Susana Ortega was eastbound on Buckingham, navigating a curve in the roadway. The vehicle is said to have lost control for unclear reasons, striking a curb and traveling over a median onto the grass. There the vehicle crashed into a tree in a middle traffic island, leaving Ortega with injuries she was hospitalized for treatment of. Police say she later died of her injuries.
