What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at Dell Dale St in Channelview, TX on November 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:07 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado is said to have been headed northbound before striking a pedestrian who was in or near the roadway. Following the collision, reports say the Silverado and its driver, David Orozco, left the scene. The pedestrian, identified as Tanika Thompson Doe, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Reports indicate Orozco was later located and show a Failure to Stop and Render Aid charge was recommended and/or issued.
