What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a teen at FM 2574 in Anderson County, TX in February 3rd, 2022. They say the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. near Palestine. Investigators say a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 49-year-old Richard Taylor was headed southwest on FM 2574 when it collided with an unidentified 16-year-old by. Police say the teen stetted into the path of the truck for unknown reasons as it neared and that he died at the scene. Taylor was not injured in the collision.
