Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 271 in Lamar County, TX on November 22nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 10:15 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 36-year-old Hugo, OK man was reportedly turning from a crossover onto an outside lane on southbound US 271 and began accelerating. Officials say a Chevrolet Sonic operated by 60-year-old Thomas Caldwell Jr collided with the commercial truck and was transported to an area hospital with injuries he later died from.
