What Happened

Officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1777 in Collin County, TX on October 12th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 5:15 p.m. According to investigators a Nissan Altima, allegedly traveling eastbound, veered off the road when its front right tire entered a rut on the south side of the roadway. Reports say the vehicle crossed into a westbound lane, where it allegedly collided with a Chevrolet Silverado. Reports indicate thew driver of the Toyota, identified as 44-year-old Thomas Castro, was seriously injured. Two child passengers had less serious injuries while the 29-year-old Nissan operator was also allegedly seriously injured. Sources indicate that driver was cited for Failure to Drive in Single Lane.
