Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at 5 Mile Line Rd in Hidalgo County, TX on November 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 5:25 a.m. According to investigators, a BMW 330 was westbound on 5 Mile Rd, nearing the intersection of Western Rd. As a Chevrolet Tahoe patrol unit was proceeding through the intersection, police say it was struck by the approaching BMW. Reports indicate the officer operating the Tahoe was seriously injured while the driver and passenger in the BMW 330 had non-life-threatening injuries. Reports indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was recommended and/or issued against the driver of the BMW. Additional information was not available.
