What Happened

Authorities in Brownsville, TX, are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at the northeast corner of the intersection of Paredes Line Road and E Ruben M Torres Boulevard. A Cadillac Escalade was traveling eastbound on the 1900 block of FM 802 when it entered the intersection at an unsafe speed and made a wide left turn. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic light pole with its front end, causing major damage. Two passengers in the Escalade were injured. The driver was charged with intoxication assault. The investigation is ongoing.
