What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at Sam Houston Pkwy in Houston, TX on September 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:50 a.m. According to investigators, a Infiniti G37 operated by a 20-year-old driver who was not publicly identified was headed westbound, allegedly at a high rate of speed. Upon approaching a crash scene ahead, police say the vehicle vehicle veered left, striking the rear of a GMC Sierra in the adjacent lane. From there, police say the Infiniti struck a guardrail and an individual assisting at the crash scene. That individual, a 26-year-old Houston man, was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. Following the collision, police allege the Infiniti operator and a passenger fled the scene before the driver was later returned to to the scene. An additional passenger in the Infiniti was hospitalized with suspected minor injures. A 6-year-old child in the GMC had serious injuries, according to police, while two other children were evaluated for possible injuries.
