What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured three people at Cara Cara Ln in Live Oak County, TX on April 12th, 2022. Officials say it happened around 1:14 a.m. According to investigators, a Mazda pickup truck operated by a 20-year-old San Antonio woman was headed southbound on Cara Cara Lane when, according to the driver, the vehicle swerved to avoid a deer in the road. This caused the vehicle to overturning into a fence, ejecting the woman and two passengers ages 18 and 16. All three individuals suffered serious injuries. Police allege the driver showed signs of intoxication and reports indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was issued. Two of the occupants, including the driver, were all cited for not wearing seatbelts.
