What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured several people at US 59 in Polk County, TX on June 19th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11 a.m. According to investigators, a Chrysler 200 operated by 430year-old Timothy Germain was headed southbound when it veered from the road. Investigators say Germain allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to veer through a grass median before striking a crossover, going airborne and overturning. Germain and a second passenger, identified as 41-year-old Karen Germain, were seriously injured. An additional 15-year-old passenger was also seriously injured. Two other passengers suffered minor injuries.
