What Happened

San Antonio Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at I-35 in San Antonio, TX on November 18th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:45 p.m. According to investigators, a tow truck was traveling in reverse towards a disabled vehicle as an 18-wheeler approached. The 18-wheeler is said to have changed lanes as a result, causing nearby vehicles to slow or perform evasive action. A southbound Ford Focus is said to have attempted to go around the vehicles before colliding with the 18-wheeler. The driver of the Ford, identified as Timothy James Eckermann, died at the scene.
