What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a man at FM 1093 in Harris County, TX on June 26th, 2023. Police have stated the crash happened around 2:10 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Sequoia operated by 23-year-old Tochukwu Achapu was headed westbound at the time of the crash. The vehicle is said to have collided with tractor-trailer that was stopped in a lane of travel. Authorities say construction equipment was being loaded onto the truck, which was unoccupied at the time. The collision left Achapu with fatal injuries. Police add that the truck was in violation of Department of Transportation standards due to not have warning cones or lights around the vehicle at the time time of the crash.
