What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at County Rd 256 in Erath County, TX on August 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 1:03 a.m. A Ford F-250 operated by 23-year-old Tony Lee Batt was headed southbound on County Rd 256 at an unsafe speed when it lost control at a curve. It then veered through a fence and traveled through a field before crashing into a utility pole. Batt suffered serious injuries. Investigators say alcohol and driver inattention were suspected as been factors in the crash.
