What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at US 69 in Port Arthur, TX on March 13th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:29 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford pickup truck operated by 23-year-old Travis Widenfeld was headed northbound in a right lane of travel when it veered from the road and collided with the left rear corner of a parked Ford Econoline truck. The Econoline driver, a 42-year-old Houston man, suffered minor injuries. Widenfeld suffered serious injuries and reports indicate a Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
