Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person involved at I-635 in Mesquite, TX on August 18th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:40 a.m. According to investigators, a Cadillac XTS was northbound on I-635 before allegedly failing to control its speed and veering from its lane. Reports claim the vehicle struck a nearby guardrail before entering into an outside shoulder. There, reports say the vehicle went airborne and overturned, ejecting a passenger from the vehicle before sliding down a concrete culvert and ejecting the driver. The passenger, identified as 28-year-old Trevaughn Donaldson, was fatally injured. The driver, a 29-year-old man who was not publicly identified, was allegedly seriously injured and hospitalized for treatment. Additional information was not available.
