What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials named the people killed in a crash at I-10 near Beaumont, TX on September 20th, 2021. Police say the incident involved a Honda passenger car headed westbound veering from its lane and colliding with an eastbound Dodge van. The Honda driver, 28-year-old Kelvin Rivera, was hospitalized as well as the driver of the Dodge, 32-year-old Andresina Borja. Each driver had a passenger that was killed. The Honda passenger, 40-year-old Tulio Funes Canales, died at the scene. The Dodge passenger, 71-year-old Timotea Borja, also died at the scene. Additional information was not immediately available.
