Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 732 in Cameron County, TX on August 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. According to investigators, an off-road Kawasaki KLF250 ATV operated by a 13-year-old from San Benito is said to have been traveling on FM 732, allegedly without active lighting. Police say an approaching BMW collided with the ATV, the impact pushing the vehicle from the road where it overturned into a mailbox before resting in a grass area. The 12-year-old passenger was seriously injured while the San Benito teen had less serious injuries, according to police. The driver of the BMW was not injured, according to police. Officers allege the driver displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested. Sources indicate an Intoxication Assault charge was issued against the driver.
