What Happened

Authorities are investigating a collision that injured a driver at Lavon Dr and Murphy Rd in Garland, TX on May 3rd, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:24 p.m. Investigators say a Toyota Rav 4 was performing a u-turn from a left turn lane and Lavon Dr as a Tesla Model Y approached southwest. Reports claim the Toyota failed to yield while making the u-turn and the two vehicles collided, the impact sending the Tesla into a nearby tree in an embankment. Officials say the Tesla operator, who was not publicly identified was uninjured. A 90-year-old passenger in the Toyota was seriously injured, police say, while the driver had less serious injuries.
