What Happened

Area authorities have information on a crash that injured two people at University Parks Dr in Waco, TX on October 12th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. According to investigators, a Buick Lacrosse operated by a 19-year-old Waco woman who was not publicly identified was eastbound on La Salle Ave at the time. A Freightliner truck operated by a 43-year-old Waco man, also not publicly identified, was stopped at a red light at University Parks Dr. Police allege the Buick attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control while trying to navigate a right turn. Ty say the vehicle struck both a curb and the rear of the stopped struck. Sources indicate both drivers had serious injuries and say a DUI charge was recommended and/or issued.
