Authorities in Upshur County, TX, are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on January 16, 2025, at approximately 1:39 p.m. at the intersection of US 271 and SH 155. A Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 79-year-old man, and a Dodge RAM 1500, driven by a 35-year-old man, were involved. Reports indicate the Jeep failed to take evasive action, leading to a head-on collision with the Dodge. The driver of the Jeep and a 74-year-old  passenger were fatally injured. The Dodge driver sustained serious injuries. Contributing factors included faulty evasive action. The investigation is ongoing.
