What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 1479 and Dixieland Rd in Cameron County, TX on August 8th, 2021. Police say it happened around 1:20 a.m. and that between all those involved, there were conflicting stories about what happened. Investigators say a Ford F-350 operated by a 37-year-old La Feria man collided with a Ford Taurus operated by a 36-year-old Palm Valley man. The Palm Valley man suffered serious injuries while the La Feria man suffered minor injuries. He was also charged with Driving While Intoxicated. The Palm Valley man was cited for No Driver License When Unlicensed, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility and Rider Not Secured by Safety Belt.
