What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at FM 2222 and Mesa Dr in Austin, TX on April 7th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3:32 p.m. According to police, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 32-year-old Austin man was headed westbound on FM 2222 in an inside lane when it allegedly ran a red light at the Mesa Dr intersection. A Honda CR-V operated by a 25-year-old Del Valle woman was making a left turn at the time on Mesa and was struck by the Silverado, pushing the vehicles against a nearby concrete barrier. Both drivers reportedly suffered serious injuries in the crash. Additional information was not immediately available.
