What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35 and Riverwalk Loop in San Marcos, TX on July 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 1:54 a.m. According to investigators, a Lexus LC operated by 31-year-old Colton Kennedy was headed southbound on I-35 when it reportedly attempted to pass a Ford Transit operated by a 40-year-old Louisville, TX man. The two vehicles collided and the impact caused the Ford to overturn and slide. The Lexus was pushed into a nearby pole. Reports indicate the Louisville man and a passenger were both seriously injured. Kennedy and a passenger were both reportedly uninjured. Reports show charges for Accident Involving Serious Bodily Injury and Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury were recommended and/or issued.
