What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at I-10 in Orange County, TX on July 25th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. after a passenger vehicle suffered a flat tire. The vehicle, a Mazda sedan, was stopped in a lane of traffic, which created a traffic backup. As vehicles were stopped or slowing, a semi-truck alleged to have been speeding, colliding with one of the stopped vehicles, creating a chain reaction collision involving 8 vehicles. The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were taken to a Louisiana hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Police had no additional information to share.
